Basic Chemicals are the historical activity of SPCH.
A flexible unit allowing to electrolyse in parallel with both Sodium Chloride (NaCl) and Potassium Chloride (KCl), is producing Soda, Potash and Chlorine which are then used as raw materials and converted into various derivatives in the other areas of the Harbonnieres plant.
The main commercial products are:
Potash (KOH) solid or liquid form as a water solution
Soda (NaOH) as a 50% solution in water
Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl)
Hydrochloric acid (HCl)
Ferric Chloride (FeCl3)
Potassium Carbonate (K2CO3) solid or liquid form as a water solution.
Potassium Hydrogenocarbonate (KHCO3)
The markets served are quite diverse with an emphasis toward Life Sciences applications like Pharmaceuticals, Food, Water Treatment and Disinfection.
